Date Taxes Become Due Taxes become due and payable to the Collector on November 1st with a discount of 4% if paid in November, 3% in December, 2% in January and 1% in February. Taxes become delinquent April 1st. Taxes are levied on a calendar-year basis, being paid in arrears for the period January 1st - December 31st.

All square footage estimates are derived from exterior wall measurements which is the standard in the appraisal industry. Builders frequently use interior dimensions and they may differ from those on our records. Before requesting a review, property owners may want to verify their square footage by taking external wall measurements themselves.
Highlands County Property Appraiser's GIS data has been created using the best available sources and is intended for general informational use only and is constantly being updated and is subject to change without notice. Currently we have only produced approximately 95 percent of the tax parcels for Highlands County. A much smaller percentage of that data has been quality control checked.
